Heads up in the Santa Ana Mountains and Santiago / Trabuco Canyon areas!
April 7th is the Warrior’s Society’s sold out Counting Coup, a relatively modestly brutal mountain bike ride at 44 miles with over 8,000′ gain, and the positively brutal but Vision Inducing Vision Quest (hence the name) at 56 miles with more than 11,000′ vertical! That would have me seeing stars – or passing out from the effort!
There will be extra traffic and people all about the hills and canyons so please be extra careful if you’re riding in the area or in the hills. The finish line for the Event is on Trabuco Canyon Road so get your cowbell (or bear bell), and cheer the riders as they complete a very tough but rewarding mountain bike course.
Riders will be starting at “o’dark-thirty” in the morning, with shuttle services running from Live Oak to Black Star from 2pm-5pm.
A special shout out to all the Volunteers and Sponsors and Supporters, Thank You!
The weather looks to be near perfect, best of luck, and congratulations to all the riders for even lining up for the start.
