All OCBC board members are actively involved in improving cycling safety throughout the county in many important ways. Here are some examples:

• Teaching bicycle safety classes to kids and adults, as Licensed Cycling Instructors (League of American Bicycles).
• Working with cities like Huntington Beach and Orange County Transportation Authority to earn bicycle safety awards.
• Contacting Public Works departments in Irvine, San Juan Capistrano, Newport Beach, Buena Park, Fullerton and more to request improvements to existing or proposed bicycle lane design.
• Endorsing grant requests for improvements. For example, the Huntington Beach bike/ped lanes on the bluff.
• Serving with staff such as the HB Public Works Transportation to review bicycle safety related issues.
• Engaging with senators, assembly members and the Orange County Board of Supervisors on relevant legislation such as E-bicycle issues and pending legislation.
